How To Get Your Book Sales Moving With Facebook Ads.

A Case Study With David Penny

facebook adsWe all love to hear the outlier stories, but sometimes it’s more encouraging to hear from those nearer the beginning of the journey. In this article, David Penny shares how he was able to get his historical fiction novels moving by using Facebook Ads.

I’ve heard people swear by Facebook Ads, but I’ve heard far more people swear atthem.

I’m one of the fortunate individuals who falls into the former camp, but it’s not by accident.

Joanna has interviewed some of the great success stories in this area such as Mark Dawson and Adam Croft. Sometimes we less stellar individuals view their success and believe we can never attain that position, but I hope to show we can forge success on our own terms

I’m very pleased to bring you an article today from my friend and colleague, Lee Foster. Lee is a publishing pioneer. He was the first author I knew personally to create a mobile app from one of his books, and one of the earliest “hybrid” authors anywhere, publishing numerous books with traditional publishers and self-publishing other, more niche titles. Lee runs a robust website and has won multiple awards for his travel writing and photography. I’m certain that every author will find something to help you profit from your own work in his 11 tips.

How Authors Can Use the Power of Radio 📻

How Authors Can Use the Power of Radio

Authors need to explore many different ways to tell people about their books. Well-known PR Expert Rick Frishman describes the promotion process as a stool with three legs. One leg is Internet promotion and another leg is print media and a final leg is radio. A stool doesn’t stand upright without all three legs. Click this link to explore Rick’s publicity teaching in a free teleseminar. Are you using radio to promote your book?

Six tips to create engaging library programs

authors, libraries, booksLibraries are community service powerhouses. A peek at any library’s calendar of events reveals one tough fact: author programs are a small fraction of a library’s lineup. Patrons often shun author programs in favor of knitting classes, business improvement courses, and movie nights.

Why?

Many modern library users see libraries as one-stop community centers. Instead of checking out books, patrons use library meeting space for neighborhood groups, conduct online research on public computers connected to the Internet, or learn a new skill. They seek programs that provide the most personal value, rendering the typical author program stale.

An engaging library program still turns heads. Librarians want to feature authors who understand the importance of programming that yields value. And because librarians act as gatekeepers for their patrons, programming is another way to help readers find and enjoy new books.
